The Allen H. & Nydia Meyers Foundation was founded in 1966. Since its inception, the Foundation has made 968 student awards and 37 institutional grants and given a total of $891,543.20 in grants and awards. Students have majored in such fields as aviation, aerospace sciences, biology, chemistry, engineering, medicine and nursing.

Historically, project grants supported exploration in such areas as leukemia, cancer chemotherapy and sickle cell anemia. Grants-in-aid to medical departments have helped to convene scientists from all over the world to exchange their experiences in the frontiers of research, scientific concepts and philosophy.
